FAQs
Q: Why should I buy your plans?
A: They're a great value! Our designs were developed and printed by computer, so everything is neat and easy to understand. We include an extra printout of the patterns on our balsa models. This means you don't need to trace patterns from the plans nor do you need to cut up your plans. This saves a lot of time. Our plans are color coded. For instance, the parts for the upper wings are blue and the horizontal tail is red. Our proprietary Snap Strut TM method lets you assemble a biplane in 1 - 2 minutes. The only screw(s) hold the wings directly to the fuselage.
Q: How well do they fly?
A: GREAT! All designs fly well with no bad habits. We use proven airfoils and each design was thoroughly tested. Your choice of power system will greatly affect perfomance. All designs were successfully tested with inexpensive GWS geared power units and 8.4 volt NiMh batteries. These systems perform well and reduce cost. We have also tested brushless outrunner systems and LiPoly batteries. Performance with this setup is greatly improved and is recommended. Weight is critical. Choose light weight balsa. Use covering and components for Park Flyers.
Q: Are they easy to build?
A: Yes, they're easy! We've made every effort to keep the parts count to a minimum. This simplifies construction and keeps weight low. There are no exotic components. Every effort has been made to keep building cost low. Try our "Cowboy Fuselage Jig". We use the K.I.S.S. design principle.
Q: Are they rugged?
A: YES. Even though we have kept weight down, these designs can take some abuse. While not indestructible, structural members are quite beefy. Also, the Snap Strut attaching method releases in the event of a mishap and greatly reduces damage.
